New member in Austin / Hope to be new owner soon

I just became a new member, and hope to become a new owner in the not too distant future. I thought I'd introduce myself to this regional forum.

I've had a lifelong love for British cars - and had a string of Triumphs, Sunbeams, and a brief fling with a 3500S Rover sedan. About 13 years ago I branched out into Alfa Romeos. Currently, we have a Triumph TR4 that's been with us for 23 years and an Alfa 2000 GTV we got in 2001. I just sold an Alfa Giulia sedan, and need to fill an empty parking spot. My wife of 36 years tells me I've been talking about owning a Jaguar since she met me, and it's time to scratch that itch.

A nice 2-/3+ driver quality Mk 2 would suit us perfectly for tours into the Hill Country and monthly Cars & Coffee gatherings at Mozart's on Lake Austin and the Oasis on Lake Travis. Being in Austin, I'm hoping to find one with A/C, or have enough left in my budget to get A/C installed so we can use it during the summer. Feel free to contact me if you know of one for sale.

I look forward to getting to know this group, and maybe even getting leads on finding the right car.

Welcome to the forums, Dean. There's a wealth of info and insight in here, as well as many cars & parts for sale. All in all, this is a great resource.

I'm in Austin too, and love owning my 2004 XJR. Helps to have a relationship with a good indy mechanic as well. I use JagTechs up north of town (Wells Branch & I35).

Good luck finding your Jag!

Thanks for the welcome.

I got very lucky found a 1963 Mk 2 that is very close to exactly what I was looking for. Hope to have it in Austin within a week, and on the road shortly after that.
