You could do it Aug 16th weekend...Monterey Car Week!!!

August 8th looks good here. I'd rather do it the weekend before car week.

Followup - Help get the word out

Please help out by contacting other members and inviting them on the Drive!

Also, if anyone has a 30-60 min run or even a nice part of Monterey they would like to drive by or stop at (wineries, point of Interests) please suggest them here.

Looking more like August 8th, the Saturday will be the run date.
There may be a Friday Night Dinner the night before for those heading down early.

Everyone we've tried to entice is already committed to (committing time & resources to) the big car event the next weekend. :-/

Depending on the impact the car show has on local hotel rates, we plan to come down the night before. Hoping to bring the XJ-S.

Keep me up

Plan B

Looking more and more like all the reasonably priced hotels/motels are booked or gouging for rates, even though its a week before the big car rally in August.

Any other Drive Suggestions?

We still may do Monterey, maybe a September Run.

How about The Blackhawk Museum? We could drive up Mount Diablo if some of the older Jags could make it!

zinedoc 07-08-2015 08:27 PM

Museum

Sept 19th is the British Car event and meet at the Blackhawk Museum.

I just got done printing the flyers for them but the site link isn't working yet and once it is I will post the info so maybe all meet there?

I think we have the chance to have 2 runs here.

Aug 8th seemed to work for everyone so I'd like to see if we can keep a run on that date. The only snag is anything on the coast is difficult because of the car show. I don't see a problem with us repeating one of our previous runs......... ie Skyline Blvd to Lobster Shack in Portola Valley is a nice road as long as we get out early enough (ie 10am). I'd love to do Route 1 again around the Marin headlands. Another idea we haven't tried before is a meet up at Bobs Giant Burgers in Livermore. We can then go and have a look at the Specialty Sales Classics.

Sep 19th at Blackhawk sounds fun.

2 runs, yay!

There are many beautiful back roads in Marin that make for brilliant Jag runs so the route seems less like a challenge than finding a restaurant that can seat 15 to 20 people (thinking optimistically) with space for the cars.

Nick's Cove in Marshall is a lovely drive/destination but they look to want a fixed menu and so forth for large parties. I'm willing to call them and see how flexible they are.

Do we have anything like a head/car count for August 8th, if it's in Marin? There's an Embassy Suites just up the road from us where we could meet. The Mill Valley parking lot is a construction staging area but we could meet at the Sausalito City Hall (restrooms) and connecting the Mill Valley to Point Reyes run would be easy enough, if Lucas Valley doesn't sound beautiful enough.

Nick's Cove menu is here:

Nick's Cove | Point Reyes Lodging | Point Reyes Restaurant | Tomales Bay | BBQ Oysters

And the run is here:
