Oil Changes

Each Oil Service here at Eurobahn includes a full oil and filter change on your Jaguar, as well as a multi-point check over to insure that no issues arise for your car in the future.

At Eurobahn Motorsports we recommended that you change the oil on your vehicle in accordance with your driving habits. Here is a guide, based on mileage, for when your vehicle should receive an Oil Service:

0-12,000 miles per-year – 2 Oil Services per year
12,000 -20,000 miles per year – Oil Service every 5,000 miles
20,0000 miles and greater – Oil Service every 7,500 miles

12,000 -20,000 miles per year – Oil Service every 5,000 miles..Okay I can see this..

20,0000 miles and greater – Oil Service every 7,500 miles....What?, This don't make sense

Why do your service intervals deviate substantially and conflict with the Jaguar OEM intervals?

only a theory , but I think you see it as raw mileage and they see it as modes of use.

0 > 12 low use, shopping trolley or weekend car, change by time
12 > 20 average, regular use probably mix of city and highway
20+ lots of use, warmed up properly , probably highway miles

I imagine its different to OEM as they have to put something in the manual to suit every car , in every climate with every mode of use. There is usually a caveat in manuals about adjusting for conditions.

I used to see delivery vehicles running synthetic that would routinely go double already generous OEM mileage between oil services. But that was a special case, running on LPG with less contamination and hot running 10 hours a day with only one cold start per day.

Jag puts very clear oil change intervals based on time and mileage in each owners manual. There's a huge difference between the recommendation for an older X Type and the newest F-type (as an example).

None of them are anywhere close to what this vendor recommends, never mind that the logic behind the intervals doesn't make sense.

I use the same intervals on my cars. It is basically how you drive them. The longer they sit the more changes, cold engine more carbon. Mediocre driving, half of dealer, presumed warm but slower driving. Lots of driving, can stretch intervals somewhat as engine is at temp and cleaner. Use this in tuning too. Always set at what customer does. Had one customer that drove 2000 miles a year and we did change every 6 months to keep the corrosion of moisture out. Car at 15 yrs. old with 48K miles.
