Default Completely clueless on wheel size!

Good Sunday Morning Everyone!

I am truly in love with my 2003 XK8 convertible! I just smile when other car owners get close in order to spark a response...I just cruise on by or let them continue on their way without one. LOL

What is the correct rim size for this car? I am confused...do I need 8.5 or 9.0 rims??

It depends on whether you have 18 inch, 19 inch or 20 inch diameter wheels.

Here's the options for your 2003MY:

If you're not sure, check the information on the tire sidewall. For example, my 2005 shows the following:

Front: Pirelli P Zero 255/35 ZR 20 99Y
Rear: Pirelli P Zero 285/30 ZR 20 99Y

The number I've highlighted in red is the diameter - in this case 20 inch.

When you have the diameter for your vehicle, check the front and rear wheel sizes from the above table.

Default Thanks Graham

This info checks with the local Jag dealer. I intend to use 24540 R19's for all four tires. My concern is over bolt size and width of the wheel. I know I need a 5 bolt wheel but do I need 8.5 or 9.0? To be completely honest, I have absolutely no idea what I'm asking about! What does the 8.5 or 9.0 even refer to??

I'm assuming the 8.5 and 9 is the width of your rim in inches. Different widths of rims require different tires, unless you opt to "stretch" your tires, which is the act of putting a narrower tire on a wider rim. As a beginner....don't do that and forget I mentioned it.

Now, I'll break it down for you.

245 40 R19

The first number is 245, which is the width in millimeters (mm) of your tire. The second number is 40, and it represents the height of your sidewall from rim to tread. This number is a percentage of the wheel width. (40% of 245mm, your sidewall is ~98mm). "R" indicates that you have a radial tire, and 19 is the rim (wheel) size in inches.

Not all wheels with a 5 bolt pattern are spaced the same, so you have to check the bolt pattern to see if different wheels are compatible with the wheel hub on your vehicle. For example, a 5x114 wheel won't fit a hub of 5x108. The first number "5" indicates that there are 5 spots on the hub, and the second number indicates the diameter of the hub.

I hope this helps.

The 8.5 and 9.0 are the width of the rim in inches.
