Help ID my newest wall hanger
 

I am guessing that this is infact a Jaguar wheel?
If so, what era and Jaguar type is it from?
also, does anyone know where I can find a center cap for this wheel? I would prefer a used cap to keep the used/worn look.

It's a standard Dunlop 15 inch chrome wire wheel for a splined hub. Often called at the time 'knock off' wheels because they were removed with a combination copper/hide hammer.

It would normally have been secured with a two or three eared spinner. These were left and right handed threads on opposite sides of the vehicle so they didn't slacken off as the wheel rotated at speed.

Jaguar also used an octagonal spinner.

These wheels were used on a huge range of sports cars from British and European manufacturers including Aston Martin, MG and Jaguar during the 1950's and 60's.

There is no way of knowing which marque or model the wheel came from. Spinners often have the marque name embossed.

thanks for the info. I have been looking for a center cap (spinner) but I am confused because they all appear to have threading on the rear, but no threading on the actual wheel that I have. Is there another piece I need?

The threading isn't on the wheel - it's on the hub.

The splines in the centre of your wheel engage with the splines on the vehicle hub (arrowed in green) and sits against the taper on the far right. The spinner then screws on the threaded part of the hub (arrowed in red) to hold the wheel on.
