I can confirm the later type of steering wheel is compatible with the older model including all the steering wheel function buttons.

HOWEVER a word of warning the clock springs do not seem to be compatible.

I had my local indy do the swap for me including the clock spring, this caused all sorts of issues with the lights and wipers, replaced with original clock spring and all is good.
