2.5 X Type Auto New member
Just to say Hello. I have always been a Jaguar fan , my first being a Mark 5 (? with the Lucas P100 headlights) and bought of a scrapyard. My friend was also a Jaguar having mostly XK120's but at over 6 foot tall I had trouble driving these and his lady friend had a Jaguar MK 2 . This was before I was married but in about 1974 I managed to buy a 2.4 MK2 which was a nice car but petrol prices virtually doubled overnight and I could no longer afford to run it and after standing in the garage for a long time I managed to sell it for £60.00 plus a mantle clock.
That was the end of my Jaguar days until January this year as I had had a string of BMW325I's ending with a 330D, All fine cars but I fancied a change and found my X Type on e-bay with only 40,000 miles on it. I do not think it is as good a car as the BMW's and certainly hasn't got the same performance but it is different and fot that I like it.

Well, Welcome back. Yes, they are different - not invisible like a 3 series - and that's half the reason we like them too.
And whenever you're tired of it, let me know - I'll give you $200 and TWO mantle clocks for it!
