fifs0075, I have not had to fix this myself, but I helped someone over the internet fix their tranny that had this issue. So, I will pass on my interpretation of what happened. The actual work is not that bad. I want to say that there is a panel on the side of the tranny that you access everything through. I want to say that you are going to go out some tranny fluid. So, be prepared for that. The problem this guy had was over time, the insulation on the wiring broke down and allowed the wiring to short out, taking out the solenoid. His fix was basically putting new insulation on the wiring.
Speaking of the solenoids. You will find 6 solenoids there. 3 of them do the shifting, 3 are control valves. Inside the group of 3 solenoids, 2 solenoids are one style (one resistance) and the 3rd solenoid is different (a second resistance). So, if you end up having to buy a solenoid to fix your issue, pay spacial attention to what resistance the solenoid should be. The solenoids solder directily to the plug. So, you will need a fine tip soldering iron that is 25W in size. You don't want anything bigger or you can damage the plug and then you are going to have a real mess on your hands.
If you need more info, look at the link that Dell gave you. If you are still confused, let me know and we can get you taken care of.
