ABS light on
 

Hi guys,

Another issue in my car lately: ABS light is on.
When I start the vehicle does not appear but as soon as I start driving, appears exactly on the same time when the doors are locking...
Any ideea?

Have you done any brake work lately? What about new bearings in the wheels? Each wheel has a speed sensor in our cars and they use a magnetic pickup that is run close to a toothed gear in each wheel. If this gear gets off center from the sensor or if it gets rusty, it can cause the sensor not to output a good enough signal, leading to the confusion of the computer.

If I remember right, with our cars, we normally have issues with the rear speed sensors for the most part. But, if your front wheel bearings start to go, that can cause enough play to move the ring away from the sensor, leading to the same indications.

My Jag will go in service next week for - you're right- brakes. We will put new rotors and pads on rear and new pads on front. Hope that will do. :)
