ABS/Parking Brake Light

I have a 2004 Jaguar X-type 3.0L, that has the ABS/Parking Brake Light that will go on and stay on for 3 - 4 days then go off for a day then come back on. Occasionally the ABS light will flash. Had A ODB scanner connected to try and find the code for the ABS issue and nothing came up except P1111 which, as i understand it is a system pass. Can anyone offer any insight/suggestions?

I have the same problem with 2006 wagon and my scanner (Torque) doesn't monitor that system.

Dram, you are going to need to find a scanner that reads what are called C-Codes (with C standing for Chassis). Even if the ABS light is off, you will be able to pull up the code(s) for your issue. the only way that you can get rid of them is via a code reader with C-Code capability or to disconnect the battery to clear the codes that way. Get those code(s) read and post them here. Right now, it can be too many things to just have you start replacing stuff and diagnosing the ABS system using just a multimeter can be a bit of a challenge as some of measurements have to be taken while the car is moving.

This one is very good for Jaguar, the next one also allows you to actuate abs, etc. While monitoring.

Ok, got a code reader and the following was found:
C1266 B1263
P1573 B1239
P0121 B1600
P1111 B2141
B1205 B1359
B1676 U1900
B1242 U2511
B1262 U2510

Any Additional help will be greatly appreciated. Also any Idea if any of this can be fixed without being overly expensive?

Dram, the U1900, U2510 and U2511 are codes that all cars have. So, you can ignore those. The others I will need to look at them and see what they have in common. The other thing that I would recommend doing is clearing all the codes that you, can, noting which ones will not clear, and then driving the car for a bit to see which codes then come back. From the looks of the list, this car has never had a lot of the codes cleared which can lead to a lot of guessing and misleading.

ok will do what i can but i do know that the C code has appeared more than once.

Dram 10-11-2018 03:08 PM

Thermo,
Ok did as you requested and cleared all the codes. I Drove the car and the re-ran the scan the following is the only codes to appear in the new scan:

C1266 ABS - Poor or no power to unit. (have checked the Fuses and all are good).
P1000 no information on that code either with the reader or the list i downloaded.

Also when i tried to run the scan for the ECU it would consistantly give me an error

the p1000 is normal after you reset the monitors.
once all the drive cycles have been completed that will change to a p1111
