X type 2002 automatic petrol, engine light error p1647,p1111
Hi guys, recently i did service on my jag, they changed air filter, engin oil etc. before I did my service, I found the engine light was on so I ask them to check the error code when servicing. The result are as follow:
Code reader print out :
Number of faults :2
Mode3 static error
*p1647 unknown fault
Mode 7 sporadic errors:
P1111 unknown fault
Mode a permanent error:
----
Why the code reader print out the permanent error without content when the total fault are 2?
after the guy check the code, I turn of the the key and restar the engine, the enging light Was gone. And the guy says the light may come back again. Should I change anything? Or it is a system error?
After search the forum I noticed p1647 is for the air filter fault on sensor 2 bank 1
P1111 is for - Intake Air temperature (IAI) intermittent high voltage-low temperature condition.
Thanks

I can tell you that P1111 does not mean what you think it does. That code is simply an emissions-ready indicator, advising if all drive cycles have been completed. If the drive cycles have not been completed, like if the OBDII codes have just been cleared, the ECU will report P1000. Once the drive cycles complete the code changes to P1111. You will ALWAYS have one or the other of those two. Your actual trouble code to focus on is the P1647.
