Add Bluetooth, Voice & ACM
Hello all,
Been doing a bunch of looking but still have a few questions. I bought a 42k miles very clean 06 VDP with Alpine prem system and shows pre-wired Bluetooth & Voice. So my questions below please note if good or please correct as needed. This car is in the USA.
1. ACM Upgrade
2. Bluetooth Upgrade
Any other help would be great
Thanks,

I'd go for the ACM if you can source one at a reasonable price.
Then I'd mount a Sirius radio in the ash tray. Route it through the RCA jacks in the ACM. I ran mine through the fuse box under the dash. I had to use a noise suppressor, but it's now all I ever listen to in my X Type.
Sorry, can't help with the Bluetooth.

The door does close. And even though they are small, the presets work great.
I used a power feed from the fuse box. The antenna is a small affair that magnets to the trunk. It comes with a thin cable about a mile long, so no problem routing it under the carpets and into the trunk.
I used some metal striping and secured the unit inside the ash tray, which i pretty much demolished, but you can't see that unless you remove it.
The sound I routed via the ACM's RCA jacks which I located in the center console.
I used a heavy duty noise suppressor as I was getting engine noise through the speakers. That did the trick. I can still use my iPhone to listen to music. I just have to make sure the Sirius is off. The ACM gets confused when two signals are being fed through it!
