After market HID wattage recommendation?

I already have 5000k 55w headlights and I believe 35w fogs - they are a little blue for my taste and might kick it up to the 4000k. But lots of people like the blue jag with blue headlights. I have toyed with getting the fogs into the amber realm - but not sure how that would look. They do cast a nice glow though. Any thoughts?

Take a look at the 50W HID bulbs. I bet you will find that they don't say that they are DOT approved. The reason is that they put out too much light. The factory ones are 35W. That is all that is needed if you have functional headlight housings. Going any brighter (higher wattage), I think you will find people flashing their brights at you.

Christo, something else to consider is that the factory system is only designed for the 35W HIDs. When these bulbs start, they pull 20 amp each (roughly). So, you are "shocking" the car/relay with a 40 amp load. By you stepping up to 55W HIDs, each bulb is going to pull 30 amps (60 amps total) and the factory wiring is not capable of handling that much current. So, if you do a modification like this, it is going to require you to upgrade the wiring for the affected lights.
Just something to consider.
