Default are all x-types 2.5 v6 march 2004 four wheel drive?

are all 2.5l v6 x-types 4wd? I saw an old top gear clip on youtube that said they were (or 40% power to back wheels 60% to front)

thanks

Yes all 3.0 & 2.5 petrol ( gasoline ) X types are 4x4 . 2.0 litre petrol & diesel X types are 4x2.

From 2001 --Late 2003 AWD transfer box was Hydraulic after 2004 a mechanical box was fitted . This was supposed to be quieter & more reliable ....However I dont believe it worked quite as effeciently as the hydraulic transfer box.

It's 60% to the back, 40% to the front. (Actually it's a 61/39 split, but let's not be too pedantic!)

Also both transfer boxes are mechanical, its just that the early ones also incorporated a viscous limited slip device which was omitted from the later boxes.
