Assembly of X-Types sold in the U.S.
So I read that the engine for the X-Type was assembled in the U.S. Does this mean engines got shipped from the U.S. to the U.K. first and then completed cars got shipped to the U.S.? Or were uncompleted cars shipped to the U.S. from the U.K. with the engines being installed here?
Just curious. Also what factory in the U.K. built the X-Type?

Ah, no.
X-Types were assembled in Halewood, near Liverpool, I was there in 2007.
The engines I'm not 100% sure, since there are a lot of "made in USA" parts in them that were shared with the Lincoln LS V6.
I'd bet the were put together in Dagenham, from imported parts, but that is just speculation.
