Has anyone had their auto gearbox remapped?

Any opinions on the concept?

 

Its a Bog standard 5/6 speed slush box ...why would you bother ??

santer, you would probably be best suited finding an upgraded valve body and putting that in. That would firm up the shifts and then you can even select how firm you would want them (based on the stage kit you get).

If you do play with the mapping, the only "shortfall" I see is that my car seems to shift into 3rd gear a little early. Maybe that is done to improve mileage. But, it seems to drop into that gear about 300 RPM before any other gear does when accelerating normally.

 

Was probably looking for the holy grail of things to do which don't involve taking anything apart

Saw a valve body kit on youtube and the economy saving was put at 3% to 4%
