Automatic Trunk (boot) Opening!

Automatic Trunk (boot) Opening!
Quick mod on the trunk over the weekend; all that is necessary is a new set of struts, and in my case a new pair of actuators sine both of mine were MIA.
Strut specs: 300mm length, 10mm ball ends, 600N force. They were easiest to source from the UK. (https://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-UNIVERSA...72.m2749.l2649)
I picked the actuators up from Engel.

It bounced the same amount with the 450s.
The 800s that some of the first guys to do this seem to be a bit much, but nothing is overextending. The strut itself is what is bouncing, by the way, not the hinge.
You might have to pad the actuator pin to raise the trunk enough to actually open, I used a 2mm rubber pad (1/10th of an inch); anything too high can push up on the edge of the trunk lid, but that takes more than 1/3 inch. Many people seem to use 1/4" washers glued to the pin to provide the extra lift.

My trunk has never opened. It unlocks, raise it and it stays up fine. Never "falls down" or droops, so compression to stay open is fine. When I first bought it, I did a search here and nearly everyone posting said that was normal (not springing all the way open). BUT, I would like it too when hands are full and loading trunk.
Were the struts reasonable? Cause around here the hood struts etc. for other cars cost a bundle.
