Default backup sensor calibration

Hi: When my auto dimming rear view mirror fell off and I replaced it with a generic one for $15, my backup sensors suddenly stopped beeping. I reconnected the original mirror hanging by its wires just to see if the sensors would start working again but no. Maybe just a weird coincidence? Or is there some calibration or arming procedure that has to be done? Is there a control module somewhere or does it use the main giant monolithic controller to do this? And where is the beeper itself? Maybe it just went silent but I have no idea where it physically is. Thank you. This is 2001.5 with sport pkg, manual trans, 2.5L.

I think just a weird coincidence.
Here is a link on the speaker for the backup sensors. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...peaker-111319/

And a link for testing the backup aid system. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...sis-faq-10367/

Default but the module itself?

Thank you Clyons for these links. I had searched for backup sensor but not rear park aid which is the correct term I guess?
My car has the giant factory powered subwoofer in the rear parcel shelf; will this complicate finding and replacing the emitter speaker?
I put my ear to each sensor and heard nothing with power on and reverse engaged. So where in a sedan is the controlling module? I gather it is not attached to the speaker since people do refer to it as a separate entity. I do have JTIS on my old computer but it seems to take hours to navigate that thing. Thank you. --Tom in Tucson
PS: fuse must be good as rear reverse lights do come on which is same fuse it would seem

I have no experience with the speaker, but the one thread seems to show how to get at it. I've attached a file that shows the location of the parking module in the trunk - probably in the spare tire well.

I have reverted to using a pdf version of the workshop manual (JTIS) that is available in the stickies above. I find it much easier to find things.
