Car wont rev past 3K RPM
 

Have a 2002 x type 2.5 manual. When I am shifting in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, if I go past 3K rpm the car kinda kicks back at me like I almost hit governor. In 4th or 5th gear I can shift past 3K RPM. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

i had a similar problem with my xk8. i found that cleaning the throttle body and the mass air flow sensor fixed the problem. id try that first

I guess I should tell the full story... I did put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner into my gas tank and after that tank of gas was empty the check engine light did come on. I will be going to get the code read tomorrow and will post again with more details.
