CLUNK goes the clutch/gears/t box?
Hi Everyone,
I seem to be having an on going issue with my car which appears (from the noise getting louder) worse. Everytime I press on the accelerator (in any gear) I hear a clunk noise before I get power to the wheels. This also happens when I change gear and bring the clutch out, and also when I take the clutch out whilst moving. Now it hasn't stopped my from driving but just in case I have made the smoothest gear changes and accelerations I have ever done in my life. The sound appears to be coming from the rear of the car and judging from the relationship with acceleration/gears I would assume something to do with the gearbox? Could anyone enlighten me on what the actual issue might be at all? Cheers! |
You might want to check the drive shaft(s) you might have a bad joint and easy to check by simply twisting them to test for play, same goes for the rear hubs & brakes. if the drive train is in good condition, then have the gearbox checked.
