Default Correct tyre sizes

Hi
Have just purchased a 2001 x-type 3L and was wondering if anybody could confirm the correct tyre size for this vehicle

Thanks in advance

I have a 2005 I think they have 16,17 and 18 inch tires. Mine are 17 and the correct size are 225/45 hr17.

Welcome to the forum! You might want to stop by our New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum and introduce yourself.

Tyre sizes for the X-Type 3.0L are;

205/55R16
225/45R17
225/40R18

There is a sticker in the left front door jamb, which also shows the sizes & pressures.

I have to tell you, I put 225/50/17 on my car. I'm so happy I did. If I have two larger adults in the back seat it will rub if I go over a bump but as little leg room we have back there nobody rides there. Kids don't affect it but my ride is so much smoother than when I had the smaller size tire. And I think they look better too. Great ride.

Your current tyres should have the exact tyre size written on the sides, so thats a good place to start if you want like for like.

I'd then go to a website like tyre shopper (this is a uk one, but im sure the us have many similar.)

Tyre Shopper | spree default

Here you can compare economy, noise, performance, review etc. Well worth a visit. you can also compare and buy online, then turn up at the local garage you've chosen and have them fitted. Saves a lot of mucking about. Worth getting some quiet ones in my opinion. I shoved some cheapo ones on my car whn I first got them. They're lasting well, but dont perform too well and ARE VERY NOISY AT HIGH SPEEDS.

cheers,
