Emissions Codes need help QUICK!
I took my 2002 x type 3.0 In for emissions testing and it did not pass.
Codes p1647 and p0447 are showing.
After searching around on the forums I have found that p1647 is for the 02 sensor and that p0447 has something to do with the EVAP system. I do not want to put another penny into this car as I want to sell it.
As far as the O2 sensor code p1647, which bank and sensor is it? Is this something I can replace myself?
And for code p0447 I could not pin point exactly what that is. Any help on what that is and how much it would cost to replace would be great.
I just want to get my car to pass emissions as I really want to dump it for an S type R before I have to sink even more money into it. Thank you.

Evan: P1647 is the bank 2 - radiator side, upstream O2 sensor. These threads have pictures of the sensor locations and the special socket needed to install them (you can borrow the socket from most major auto parts stores:

Thank you. I found tons of information on the P1647 code. The cheapest I could find the 02 sensor brand new was $82. The rest of the listings on Ebay and other sites wanted like $220 for the 02 sensor. Does that seem about right or is there another site that has it for less?
Also, I could not find much about the P0447 code. I am no mechanic and do not know how to test the EVAP system and I don't want to throw money at parts that don't need to be replaced. Should I just take it into the shop for this code? At the absolute worst (since nobody seems to know exactly what in the EVAP system causes this code to pop up), about how much would this job cost?

Evan97: Upstream O2 sensors for our X-Types are Bosch 15627, Denso 234-9029 and NGK / NTK 25631.
Two eBay sellers now list Denso 234-9029's for $57 - $58. The seller should confirm before you buy that you'll receive a Denso brand sensor, not a knock-off.

For the P0447, this video walks thru how to test the charcoal vent solenoid. It's not an X-Type, but the concept in the same. Download the shop manual for our X-Types - a sticky link in this forum - and read the fuel tank section to see the location of this vent solenoid and how to disconnect it on our cars - picture attached.
If the solenoid is bad, search for a used replacement with Jaguar part number C2S8605 or Ford part number F80E-9F945-AA. Here's one:

And here's an the entire charcoal canister and vent valve together: https://www.ebay.com/itm/DK805394-20...AAAOSwQFNbBHMB
