exhaust leak advice please

I have a 2002 x type 3.0 manual trans.
On the firewall side of engine about half way up the firewall is where I believe the pipe ties into the manifold. where it connects together is loose. If I'm in under the car and I reach up , this part of pipe pulls up and down. And obviously the car is loud because of this. What type of connector is this and how do I fix it .what kind of a cost am I looking at ? Any advice on this matter would be much appreciated. .thank you all..

daniel, if you go to your local auto parts store, they will have special bands that will clamp down on the joint and tighten it up again. They are like $10. Not that bad. You just have to know the size of pipe (which I believe is a 2.25" pipe right there). From there, you can remove the bolt, slide the band over the pipe, put the bolt back in and then slide it up the pipe to where you need it and tighten down. The pipe is slit for the band to be able to take up the slack and lock the two pipes together.

problem solved

Hey thermo.. Just wanted to give you an update.. The exhaust was leaking at that spot...it was a easy fix just like you said ...I bought a three dollar clamp and took the passenger tire off and went in through there .bolted the new clamp on ..good to go...but also it had a big leak at the flex pipe just past the manifolds in under the front cabin floor ...I went to the part store and bought a new thirty dollar flex pipe ..I fought the old one off at the flange with a reciprocating saw and unbolted the flange ...I out the flange on bench with new flex pipe sitting on top of it and started up my mig welder ..set it on low and welded the flex pipe and flange together ...d opled the pipe down off hanger ..got in under ,fitted the new flex pipe to the pipe and weleded em together. .then welded the hanger to the new assembly...it was a pretty simple project...worked allot better than spending a ton of money on that flex pipe from dealer....I fixed the whole exhaust system for under forty bucks...took about two hours ..also while I had the tire off I noticed that my serpentine belt was getting wore on edges so I replaced that AS well. ...it was a productive day ...thank you everyone for your help....thank you thermo.
