First fuel filter change

First fuel filter change
So I had a new fuel filter sitting around for a couple weeks that I got when I bought my spark plugs, so I decided today was the day I'd give it a shot changing it. Watched a helpful video on youtube and went out and changed it. Took about 15 minutes altogether because I had trouble getting the old filter out. The steel hoses were in the way so I really had to loosen it and finagle it a lot to get it out. I had removed the gas cap to depressurize the line, but it seemed like there was a lot of gas in the lines still. Probably lost about a cup of fuel The video recommend taking out fuse 17 under the dash and running the car til it stalled out, but I went the easier route and didn't do that. Probably should have to not waste the fuel. Anyway, the original filter was so dirty, it looked like coffee pouring out the other end. Glad I replaced it finally. I've never changed a fuel filter before, always something I overlooked on my other cars. Now I know they are important! They collect all the junk in the gas and it just sits there forever and clogs up if you don't change the filter! Will take it for a test drive soon and see how it goes.

Well Done 04!
I've yet to do mine so I hope I am luckier with a cup in the right place, which one did you get
There is nothing in the world like DIY (do it yourself!!) and I'm glad you've noticed the improvement, she's nice in white too!!

It was just the Pentius fuel filter, got it on Amazon for like $7. Car seems to drive a lot smoother since changing the old one. The old one was a Jaguar filter, but I'm guessing it was probably well due for a new one. The Pentius was very affordable but seems to work perfect and clipped right in.

Yea the fuel filter really helps. I noticed my car ran smoother right away and felt like it had a little more pep. The fuel filter is easy to forget but if it's old changing it is definitely a good idea. Basically all the dirt and stuff it catches in the fuel just sits in the filter forever until you change it. Mine looked like it had hot chocolate pouring out of it when I removed it.
