Here you go boys and girls...

http://www.itprosondemand.com/jaguar/EPC.rar

Off my server. About 50mbps bandwidth. Have fun

Please do NOT link from other sites, I'll take it down if it gets too excessive.

Thanks Buck for this.

Hi!

Thanks for posting!

Question, though. The file has a "rar" extension. Is this a simple zip file or what application do I need to open the file?

Thanks!

You need winrar to extract the archive.
Download here:

Take care,

Right Click on the computer icon on your desktop. Select properties. A window will pop up with info about your computer. If it says Windows Vista 32bit get 3.93 x32. If it says Windows Vista 64 bit (unlikely), get 3.93 x64.

Hope this makes sense.

JUST FYI to clarify.
you need to extract the two main folders called
JEPC and JEPCV3 into the ROOT of C drive.

it was said above to put it DIRECTLY on C drive. I think that is misleading. You cant put them anywhere else or it wont work.

the file i downloaded from here:

http://www.itprosondemand.com/jaguar/EPC.rar

only comes up as 1 file EPC.rar
its extracting right now through that other link that was posted for the rar extractor. WinRAR

does this open into 2 files i have to extract again??
its taking a while but i think its because my comp is running updates now too...

NO, it will leave a folder in the location you selected, Entitled "Jaguar EPCv3 10.2009"

Open that folder you will see two folders. "JEPC" and "jepcv3" and two files. First is a shortcut to JEPC (will have a Jaguar Icon), second is a readme.txt file.

Here is what you have to do:

Highlight the two folders "JEPC" and "jepcv3" - move them to c:
Drag the shortcut to your desktop

Once you have moved the two folders to c: double click on the shortcut to launch the program.

Login is ADMIN and password is 123.

Enjoy.

I think what you'll find is this:

"EPC.rar" is a WinRAR archive. Inside, when unpacked, are the 2 folders you need plus a readme file with login info and a shortcut that you copy to your desktop. If you manage (as I did) to unpack the 2 folders so that they appear inside another folder, then you'll have to copy each out directly into the C Drive root directory.

Or just read the post above this one - which is better written than mine!

i cant even get mine to launch... i think i messed up my shortcut... i clicked it and it said "windows is trying to locate the files or you can click browse" smart me clicked browse and went through the file paths to where the folders are on the c drive but its got a long path to get to it...
im trying to copy them right on to the c drive and see if it will launch but i think i have to remove everything and start all over...

Not misleading at all as people need to know that its got to go directly into C Drive. When I first used this program I transferred it from CD to my desktop and then moved it to the C Drive which took ages, so best just put it to the C drive straight away.
@
The program has diagrams (hence the size) and covers all models from 95 to the latest XJ. Its what dealers used.
@ghettomike
You download the 1 rar file staright to your C drive and extract it there
This extracts 2 folders,1 shortcut (place on your desktop) and 1 txt file with instructions/password/username.

something is corrupt with what I have. I dont have any pictures.

Also everything I click on on the top right says "no interent connection" is that normal.

Just trying to help BUCK. If you dont put the folders into the ROOT of C it wont work, if you put it directly any other place it wont work.

Directly or indirectly, it needs to be in the root of C, not in any folder... are we having a terminology issue?

Just got the images working, It is a flash issue.
You need to set the default web browser to 32 bit version, using regular flash.

If you have a 64 bit system you might already know that 64 bit explorer does not work with flash, unless you use a thing called flash square.. from a non-release adobe thing.

Think so,as said directly into C: meaning not into any subfolders in C:

Yes, not all feature are supported unless you are a dealer with a connection to Jaguar.Where you need to be a dealer to use it comes up with "a connection to the interent could not be established"
For most home users like us after a little bit of practise finding parts and part numbers scan be done quickly by drilling down to the relevant sub sections.Note this is an EPC from Oct 2009 so some numbers may have been superceeded since.
Another good feature of the EPC is found by clicking on the red i at the top of the car model section. This opens up a new window which depending on model shows things like model year VIN changes, how to decode VIN numbers, module locations, frequencies of fobs, how to find and decode serial numbers for engines/gearboxes,colour codes for internal trim/paintwork,etc

Hi Buck, and thanks for the upload information. One questiion though, I followed the directions and loaded it on my laptop, when the file opened up it asked me for a id name and a password.....???? did I do something wrong where it wouldn't open? Do you have that information and I just didn't read it when I was going through everyone else's thread? The openning page ask what country and has the id name and password, and won't let me go pass that, your help would be a lot help full
Thanks Vai1953
