Front Hub: Where to buy

Hi,

I have a 2009 Jaguar X-Type 2.2D and have had to replace the front passenger side bearing twice in 1 year.

This makes me think that the hub needs replaced as well.

Whereabouts is it possible to buy the front hub and bearing kit?... europarts do not stock it.

Also can a ford mondeo front hub be used?

Thanks

Jonathan

Thanks, do you know if this part uses a pinch bolt? I had got one and it used a ball joint which didnt fit....

Never heard of a pinch bolt. Jaguar X type uses a nut to hold hub and bearing on. It has to be torqued at 200 ft. lbs. to keep it in place. Any less and there are reports it loosens and causes problems.

G'day Jonathan,

I had a similar problem years ago with a Mazda I owned and it was a slightly distorted front hub due to collision damage which created a high pressure spot on the bearing which didn't last very long.

A new hub fixed it so it sounds like you're on the right track.

Cheers,
Jeff.

I just redid my wheel bearings. I bought the bearings and one hub from SNG Barrett, a vendor on here. I also bought a new axel nut as they should not be reused from what I read. Dell is right on torqueing them to the 200fl lbs. If you don't have an impact wrench to break the nut off your in for a very tough job.

There is a "pinch bolt" but that is to hold the ball joint post in as it pinches around it.

Good luck!
