Garage Door Opener

Having problems programming my garage door opener on my 2004 X-Type. Have tried everything listed in the manual several times. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you get it corrected? Any help would be appreciated.

you might have a garage door with "rolling code" if this is the case, you will not be able to program your door to the car.

I have a 2004.5MY and found that I could only program the garage door using the second technique in the manual (pushing the button on the door motor unit). My house is 17 years old and has a Craftsman opener.
