Generator light
Hi everyone. 04 3.0 w/50,500 mls. Last night after driving 45 mins w/ A/C and headlamps on, the generator light came on. Got home, shut off car for 5 mins at most. When i started back up, warning light was no longer on. Went to repair shop the morning and they tested battery, which was very strong at 14.5 amps, 12.5 with A/C cranked and lights on. They told me it must have been some type of glitch! No fault found....Any thoughts on this?

Probably battery connectors were loose and corrosive? I had a same problem and it went away when I cleaned connectors from corrosion and tightened them.

I have a similar problem with a light that comes and goes!!! The dealer and myself have been unable to find the fault!!!

Codes would help narrow it down. Even though the check engine light isn't on the ECM controls the charging system and if the battery light was on it will have set a code in the ECM. Battery lights are very hard to diagnose in an X-type. Hands on diagnosis at a Jaguar dealer is the best way to go.
