Has anybody taken apart a 2005+ fuel pump?

Gents;

Has anyone anyone taken apart a 2005 or later fuel pump?

I ask, because fuel pumps up to 2003/4 can be “rebuild” or fixed by taking them apart and replacing the actual electric pump actuator inside the “bucket” . I am not sure if the same is applicable for later pumps as they are different .

Thanks for any help

I have tons of pictures of my replacement fuel pump and it looks exactly like an earlier year one. Idt they changed that pump as listing (depending on the "pigtail" or "elongated pin" electrical hookup) runs from 2002-2009 on replacements.

Thanks Dell. If you have any photos you could share of the later pump, specifically of the area ok top of the bucket. I am not sure if the fuel pump motor connector is the same on both pumps

In my thread on replacing my fuel pump there is a very comprehensive and detailed explanation of installing with input from a bunch of other members including pics, measurements, etc. The biggest challenge was/is the electrical connector on top of the pump. Either a "pigtail" or "elongated" hook up that apparently cannot be determined by vin, year or other information readily available. Even the Jaguar dealer said until his mechanics drop the tank and remove the pump, they have no way to know which one to order for replacement.

Well I was able to source a genuine pump electric pump that looks identical to what other members have posted.

Challenge remains cutting the hole, removing the pump with gas still in the car and doing it safely.
