Head lamps pins on Xenon connector vs Halogen
Hi All,
Am hoping you can help. I am trying to source a drivers side headlamp unit however I'm having issues with the whole factory HID unit vs Halogen units.
I know the connectors from the unit to the car are the same shape however the number of pins differ between the HID and Halogen models. IS there anyone that can tell me the difference in the pins. I am sure one of them has 6 pins however I don't know which is which.
Hope that makes sense
Cheers all

Russ, the only difference is on PIN 10. On the halogen headlights, this pin is blank on the headlight assembly and on the factory harness to the headlights. For cars with the factory HID system, the headlight assembly has a pin in the #10 spot and the #10 spot has a second ground wire (other is at Pin 9). This is due to the current surge when the HID lights start (pulls about 20 amps just for the headlight itself).
If you need more info, let me know.
