joseph1945, PM me your email addy and I will send you a complete wiring diagram for your car. Just tell me the year of your X-Type and I will send you the info you need. If it is a 2004, I also need to know the built month/year (written in the driver's door jam) unless you happen to know if you have the older or newer wiring setup.
Looking at the diagram for a 2002, here is a short break down of the wiring. Pins 2 and 7 require 12 VDC to be applied to them. Pin 8 is your ground. Pins 4 and 3 control the motor direction (4 is down, 3 is up). Pins 3 and 4 require a ground to be applied to them to make the motor move. Pin 1 is not used and Pin 6 is for the global close function (should need to ground this pin to make the motor go in the close direction, but the drawing is not clear on this). |
Fantastic, thanks to Chis (Thermo) he supplied me with the correct info to sort my problem, EXCELLENT. Thank you, Joe

Just to add to my greatful thanks, I have just been out into my workshop (garage) and set up a rig using the info Chris (Thermo) sent to me and everything worked like a charm, Thanks again Chris, Joe

joseph, not a problem. Having the correct information is most of the battle. That makes things a lot easier to deal with. do not be afraid to post what you find as someone else may find the information useful.
