Help - Metal Filings in Fuel Filter - €1700 to recon pump+inject
Please can someone help
I have just gone to an indy here in Dublin. There are issues with the limp mode when you put your foot down - On the computer it was the fuel rail pressure. Took the Filter out and found metal filings. When this is the case the Fuel Pump is breaking down and it needs over hauling and you also need to test and recon the injectors. All this will come to approx €1700 - Is this reasonable? Does anyone have suggestions.
I already have to replace the starter motor at €387 fitted today and he said this could be the Dual mass Flywheel so it could happen again in 6 months no way of knowing unless you totally strip the starter down.
So after the starter I really cant afford another €1700
Does anyone have any experience with this can you provide any assistance please.
