RE: Suspension Noise when i turn
If the sound only happens when making a turn, it could be the driveshafts....(left or right, depand on the turn)

RE: Suspension Noise when i turn
I've noticed that when I make hard turns right or left it makes a sound in my car like the tires are rubbing up against the inside of my wheel wells! I don't think it is possible that it is rubbing because it would show on the tires but I don't know what else it could be. The rims on my car are the same as stock with a size of 225/45ZR17.

Have you checked the plastic bracket that holds the front sway bar in place? I hear they break easy.....i just don't know what type of noise it would make.......

I started noticing this squeaking sounds as well....as I make turns or go over speed bumps...its pretty annoying. I have a feeling it might be some rubber bushings on the front suspension...so Racer have a valid thought about checking the front sway bar. Im going to have my Jag buddy at the dealer check it out tomorrow, while he drains and refills my tranny.

Sounds like yours came loose...which is very unusual...unless you had some work done maybe some accident repair and mechanic didn't bolt it back into place.

RE: Suspension Noise when i turn
I'm very concerned about the reports of wheel arch liner wear. The usual design clearance for the wheel includes provision for snow chains, and so the liner shouldn't be anywhere near the tyre. All of the various wheel diameter / tyre combinations are considered and the projections of maximum suspension travel and rotation displacement as you steer.
I'm assuming of course that we're not talknig about any unusual wheels, tyres or changes to the suspension set up (ride height etc).
Where exactly is the wear (which axle and whereabouts in relationship to the wheel centerline)?
I'm not surprised by the lack of markings on the tyre - sometimes you see a polished effect in the surface of the rubber, but nothing more.
I've looked at my car and I agree - the liners are rather cheap. There are better design offerings and liner materials out there, the problem is they won't have been engineered to the X type body. This probably contributes to the rather high tyre noise (in comparison to competitor offerings or even a current Ford Mondeo)
Cheers, Graham

The design is cheap, yes, but overall function is very realiable. There is no way in hell your tire can rub on that liner unless you have broken bolts, broken suspension, or your liner was removed for whatever reason, than re-installed incorrectly, and or you have the incorrect tire size/rim.
look over your entire suspention, if you are not sure, get a professional. Front end parts coming off and or rubbing is not something to take lightly.
The liner is held in place by a few screws, and it also interlocks with the fender in case the screws do come out....
It take alot of force to get that liner to move...
I'll be curious as to what you find.

RE: Suspension Noise when i turn
I think I have the same noise. I inspected everything and it looks good. It only happens when I take a "right" turn. Sounds like a squeeking noise (almost like when a sway bushing is getting dry). I haven't checked my bushings yet but my car only has 23k miles...
