Success at last I have managed to get the Jaguar phone to work on my 06 X type after 3 years of ownership. Now I wonder how I would clear the phone book if I ever decide to sell the car. The previous owners contacts were all there when I looked. Can anyone tell me how to empty the phone book?

I was actually looking through my manual today and found a large portion devoted to the phone portion of the gps unit. I would assume that this should give you information on how to delete contacts. If you don't have the manual anymore, I'll look it up in mine for you I'm almost positive it's in there as I was looking in there for how to set up my homelink

I looked in my manual but can't see the code so maybe you have a more comprehensive one than mine. I popped into my local Jaguar dealer today to drool over the new XF and while there I asked the salesman about the phone code, he is almost certain that the code is ##4#*# or something like that. I'll give it a try when time permits and see what happens ( gulp )

Took me a while too - it's not exactly intuitive!

The Bluetooth systems are generic across the range and your X-Type will be the same as my XK8.

As you'll now know, only one phone can be paired at a time. This restriction can be used to remove (as opposed to set as deleted) the Phone Book data.

The only safe way to clear the Phone Book is to pair another phone with a blank or dummy data Phone Book and leave the ignition on for the minimum specified time (> 6 mins) to upload this new PB, thus overwriting your actual PB.
