Just detailed my first X (Chester County, PA)
So i got an email last week from a Jaguar owner in the West Chester, PA area that was looking for a paint full restoration polish on his 99 Jaguar type- X. After about a 30 minute drive, I arrived and the owner pulled the car out into the sun. HOLY HOLOGRAMS! someone obviously took a wool pad to the paint and went right to wax. The owner was obviously extremely displeased with the condition of the car (it only had 45000 miles on her). He explained that, although the car ran great and was extremely fun to drive, the condition of the exterior was reason enough for him to potentially sell. I started out by giving the car a good wash and clay. I then used an entire roll of painter's tape to protect the headlights, trim, seals, etc. Then i pulled out the Festool Rotex machine and went to town....
With a yellow foam pad and Extreme Cut Leveler Polish, i went over the entire car and got rid of the major imperfections. This took me a solid 3 hours to get the paint where i wanted it. I pulled the car out into the sun to double-check my work. Here's the car immediatly following the compounding- still all taped up (sorry i forgot my digi so i had to use my cameraphone....)
I then went over the car with Pinnacle XMT 360 and a white foam polishing pad. This brough back all the luster- and also enriched the paint with a carnuba sealant all in one step. To finish off the paint, i topped with P21s Carnuba paste. The owner was astonished how well the car came out. The flake that was practically un-noticiable before now shines like new. He no longer has any reasont to get rid of this beauty!
This was actually the first jaguar ive done a full detail on. Im a regular on bimmerforums.com and have done several member's cars. I cater specifically to high-end clients in the West Chester, PA area. This is my first post on jagforums and hopefully i can share more of my work for you guys in the future. If anyone in the area is interested, more of my work can be seen at euro-perfection.com

RE: Just detailed my first X
Lol.........I didnt realise you were across the pond E325. There is a West Chester over here too!
The guy in question over here does a very similar job to you.
The car is washed thoroughly, clay bar, checks the paint thickness with micrometer to see how much he can safely remove if needs be.
Buffs out the imperfections, wax on wax off, Carnauba this that n the other.......Just been Zymol trained n certified too. Does Lambos, Aston Martins, Bentleys etc etc.
He can do a job for everyday run of the mill guys like ourselves for around £300 depending on the condition obviously.......takes around 8-10 hours.
I know US is a big place............but any you guys near to E325 should check this out if you want a glass like finish to your cars paintwork.

Hey there Ep325i.........I reckon if you do this for a living, you should speak to the admin re putting some pointers in the detailing section, as well as your contact details. Offer advice and answer questions, post pics of your detailing c/w before n after pics too. It could win you some serious business.
Mather did this on another forum and it worked very well.
Just a thought..........could help you and help the members by showing them the do's n don'ts of detailing!
