Default Lowering..

Im looking to lower my 02 X-Type, as far as i can see Eibach are the cheapest and lowest drop, which is 1.4.. Anyone know of any others that are around the $300 range but with a bigger drop? Wanted more then 1.4..

Just for reference, 35mm is the 1.4" drop. So, both drop kits will net the same result.

Just keep in mind that when lowering your Jag...even though it does look good and the handling is so much better there is some negative issues:

1. You need to stick with 18 inch tires max (if you plan on cruzing with buddies in the back seat better use 17 inch tires)

2. Alignment will be necessary but they won't be able to adjust the camber due to the new height (the factory adjustment won't allow for new setting)
It'll be very important to check tires and rotate every 7-10K miles or so.

3. Ride will be very harsh (you don't mind it now...but let me tell ya...after 6 months you'll be thinking otherwise)

4. other then that, enjoy!

H&R springs were installed before I bought the car. It came with 225/35/19 tires, but those were too big and max load endurance wasn't enough for that car so inspection was denied.

Like racerx said, don't go over 18". V6 is so heavy and when you are driving at the freeway, dints makes tire(s) to take contact with fender(s). Or maybe that's cause of stock dambers.

But I don't agree with a very harsh ride. More likely a little bit harsh in some situations. Cobbleroads aren't my favorites..

Appearance before comfort :P

Rule of thumb is to upgrade teh struts when going with lowering springs. If you do decide to go w/the stockers realize they are likely to go bad prematurely. Blown struts + lowered car = back ache. Well, that is unless you're in Florida or something.

I don't know why but seems many X-type owners don't ugprade the struts when lowering their car. My argument is you might as well do it as everything is all apart. Who wants to open all that shiz up again in a few years?

Those springs were alreydy installed when I bought that car. I would have changed stock struts too..
