Default Mina Gallery exhaust with Porsche tips installed

I quite like it so far... Good fit and finish. I had the exhaust shop fab up a full catback (all you get is a pair of mufflers/tips from Mina).

Thoughts?

Up next for the Jaaag:

Finishing up the exterior mods... New wheels/small aero changes/custom stuff

Starting a sick new interior project tomorrow. I'm really taking it up a notch on the inside (afterall, that's where I spend most of my time).

New audio... Full Sound Ordinance system going in next month.

I like the tips. Had trouble seeing it on their site but it looks good on the car. Can you feel those extra 13 horses it is supposed to give you?

They look awesome. I want them also, but will wait a month or two. I'm on engine bay at the moment. Too bad we don't live closer.

I like the exhaust tips, but they just don't fit in the openings in the valance. Widen it!

looks good! also, what is the benefit of having a full catback vs a pair of mufflers?

Nice - I like anything more than the neutered stock appearing pipes.

2HP gain, more decibels and a race-lightened wallet.

Thanks for the comments guys

I went with a full catback because I had an exhaust leak so it was just a good excuse to fix that problem too. Im happy with it because there is no droning inside the car but it does have a nice growl to it.

So they simply are lying on their website saying a 12hp gain. Seemed tough to believe but really... a hp for every $250. I think I'll put on turbo 2 mufflers, save $450 and get the same increase in hp.. Sure looks nice though.

HAHAHAHA

12hp gain from a pair of mufflers?! Dream on... If only it were that easy...

The claimed horsepower gains on the Mina website are hogwash, I can guarantee that they have never even taken an X Type anywhere near a dyno to prove such claims. If you buy this exhaust dont be bummed out because you arent making any more power, I already knew this going in to it.

I've gained 16 with mufflers only on a Subaru SVX. Granted it was nothing more than a tin can with holes in it and gave an attrocious blat sound but the dyno showed it. Maybe I'll buy one then get it for free for false advertising after a dyno trip.

lol, so basically its the idea of putting stupid brand name stickers on your car to get more power.
The ricers at my school follow this, apparently each sticker is equivlent to 50bhp gain....hmmm could mina be pulling the same trick

Let's not forget, these are beautiful stainless steel mufflers with really nice tips. Whether they provide HP gains or not, they are worth the money. Many - if not most - performance mods are for appearance primarily. Exhausts, cold air intakes, big brake kits, lowering springs, wheels, etc. All provide some marginal benefit, but the big utility they bring is in the cosmetic department.

How many of your race your X-Types? Really? This is an age-old debate that seems to plague less mature aftermarket followings like Jaguar (and Volvo). People aren't modifying their cars primarily for performance and the other German car followings have come to accept it. I have, I know Allen has and a few others, but this like the other mods I listed is for vanity.

You are seriously out to lunch on this one. =P The stock mufflers are stainless. So you're saying it's worth it to replace stainless with stainless and get more expensive tips?
Most performance mods are for just that, performance. Whether or not people actually use them for that is a different story.

Um, me? Hoping to get to Lime Rock Park and Mosport for the first time this year and I'm looking at a four day event at VIR in the summer.
