More X power

Has anybody found a company that sells a supercharger for the 05/ 3.L jag yet?
I am curious if anybody has done anything to increase the stock power from 227 to 300hp? Safely, without nitrous? Can it be done without damage to the AWD??

Anybody got any ideas?

RE: More X power

I've been rethinking my possibly getting an XJR and looking into the X-Types. And after doing a little research, I've been thinking about the possiblility of turboing the 2.5L V6. Of course, this would not be easy. I like the option of Turbo over Supercharger personnaly. After looking into it, it looks like it would be easier and cheaper in the long run to turbo the 25.V6 than SCing it. Of course there is the issue of space, but after looking at other turbo installs on other cars with little engine compartment space, it can be done. Custom manifolds for both sides feeding something in the way of a Mitsu 16G (or 20G if lag is OK for you) and custom 2.5-3.0" exhaust. Possibly a small front mount IC and all the plumbing and stuff. But then your running into the problem of doing some cutting to run the IC pipes and the like. Fuel shouldn't be too much of a problem, just pop in a larger pump (I have yet to find out wheather the X-Types are running a returnless fuel system or not). If it is a return-style fuel system, an adjustable regualtor can be used and probably larger injectors. Thinking about hiding an S-AFC somewhere in the interior (glove compartment) for fuel correction.

If I'm missing anything here, please let me know. I know your original question was reguarding SCing the X-type but, again, after researching it, I came across a few problems: How to drive it off the stock belt assembly, and integrating the SCer into the stock air metering systems to correct fuel etc. I know a few places that will develop "black boxes" to work with a Stock NA -to- Turbo application, but I'm not sure that it would work the same for a SCed application. ALso, the stock exhaust system would have to be upgraded...same as with the turbo option.

Those are, of course, my $.02. Any other opinions/comments/changes to my thoughts are welcomed.

(I appoligize in advance if this ends up being a high-jacked thread)

Thanks for the info, and I agree with you on the turbo. Nothing sexier than a turbo spinning at max rpm making that beautiful whistling sound !!

I think right now with the demand of performance parts being so low for these cars that no matter what I decided it will probably be cheaper to get a new faster/powerful car. I just love my 05 jag and know there has to be a cheaper way to squeeze an extra 50+hp out of her. I think you can safely increase the hp to 300 and as long as you watch your launches from a stand still the PTO and gearbox should survive. I'm thinking true dual exhaust/air intake kit and some boring of the runners should get me there while keeping the budget under 1500-2000. Maybe a computer tweak to get rid of the darn speed limiter is gotta be a must.

I found two companies that have some performance parts, but the prices are still too high and they are in the UK and Germany.
Check them out....

Anyway, I am happy with the Jag, just need a few extra ponies for that top end.......

And ebay.co.uk has some better deals, but most won't ship to the U.S.

Anybody have any good parts for sale??
