Default My money pit made me money.

This week we laid to rest Mick. He was a 2003 jaguar x-type with all the trimmings. Power heated seats, garage door openers, trip computer. I originally purchased him with 170,000 miles for $2000. The seller claimed there was a problem with the transmission. I ran codes and came up with only air leaks codes, so I took a chance. After a $40 trip to the auto parts store, he was up and running great.

Running great until my son hit a raccoon and took out the radiator and transmission cooler. They totaled my car and offered me a check for $1800 if I wanted to keep it. I thought, of course, I want to keep it. A good Saturday and $400 later he was back on the road and going strong. Last winter my son slid again and the lower A-arm in the front got a little messed up but nothing we could not deal with. I mean really, we were only into the car $640. Not a bad car for that kind of money. Then last week I was rear-ended in a rainstorm. The other insurance company was amazing and paid me $2665 to take it off my hands.

When all was said and done we were able to drive a wonderful car for three years and we got paid $2000 to do so. It does not get better than that. Thank you Mick for your time and service to our family. May you rest in peace.

Agreed! I guess once the mourning is over I will need to look for another one to replace it.

Dell, The Cruise control issue was on Herbert. I ended up unplugging the cruise control sensor on the brake peddle and no more problem. No cruise either. but I still have that car.
