Default My Parrot MKI9200 install

Evening, just thought this might be useful to some of you, I just installed a Parrot MKi9200 in my X-Type, with Satnav and single CD player (no disc changer), the car also had a Nokia car kit installed

Sorry, I didn't get lots of pictures but there are lots of threads about how to install these things, I just thought I'd put up a few pointers and a pic or two about how mine ended up.

I bought the Parrot MKI9200 and the required SOT-082 adapter loom for £150 delivered from Amazon.

It's really straight forward, needed the radio code, a phillips driver, 8mm socket and a T30 torque bit to remove the stereo, and I think the same but also a T20 torx to remove the glove box as I fed the put the line in and the USB into that. Once you have access to the back, you plug the adapter harness wires into the control module of the Parrot, then you remove the connector from the radio and plug it in to the other end of the wiring adapter, then plug the adapter wiring in to the stereo. That's it, the hardest bit is routing wires and deciding where you want to put the display and the remote.

Took maybe an hour and half and half of that was me trying, unsuccessfully, to remove the Nokia kit already in place, I removed the existing 'Telemute' module but there was a few feet of wiring loom associated to it, I traced the wires back and they went all over the place and then disappeared so I taped them up and tucked them out of the way.

Here it is when I lose fitted the stereo back just to make sure everything fit well and so you can see where I put the display and remote

Then the same after it was all put back together to see how it looks completed

And again from the back, in this you can see where I put the mic, (just) in the middle at the top

It seems good so far, I don't have the premium system but it sounds great to me, fro my phone I was streaming from Spotify and was able to skip tracks from the remote, also playing tracks from the phone itself again sounded the same as radio or CD. The phone facility is good too, made and received calls, also made a call using the "Call {contact name} mobile" and all was well, could hear them fine and they could hear me fine.

The sound did not peak or drop when switched between the car audio and streaming from the phone.

Fire away with any questions if you have them

Also, I can confirm that when streaming music from the phone it does play through the front AND rear speakers
