Default No Key for X-type push/toggles start

I recently aquired a Jag the seller sold it because he lost all the keys. I don't have any keys or fobs this is a project car for me and my son i was wondering IVF were could just use a toggle push button start. Will that work with the computer? Or is it a waste of time?

No, the PATS uses a signal (transponder) in the top of the key fob (not doors, trunk buttons bottom part) to "tell/allow" the car to start. This transponder is "paired" to the car by dealer level software. This is pretty expensive at the dealer to have them look up your tribbe key code from VIN, cut a new key (w/new door/trunk bottom buttons) fob, "pair" it to the car.

If you can find an independent locksmith with the ability to cut tribbe key (still get cutting code from dealer w/proof of ownership), & the correct "electronics" to program the new key it will be much less money.

When you get time, follow directions on main page of MANDATORY new member intruduction, then update your info on CP (user control panel) tab. Location, etc. is helpful in getting help here. Then about 1/2 way down in CP input your car info, etc. In your "signature" (as exampled in mine) to help members know what car, engine, fuel, year etc. You are asking about.

You can get the blank fobs on internet, just verify you are buying a U.S. Frequency one not European frequency.
