OBDII codes

HELP Please!!!! I have a 04 X-Type Jaguar and today my engine malfunction light came on. The OBDII codes that came up were P1000, P1111, and P1646. Can anyone tell me what these are and what I can do to fix them?

RE: OBDII codes

The p1000 and p1111 are OBD readiness codes. Nothing to worry about. The P1646 is for O2 sensor bank1 upstream. Likely needs an O2 sensor.

RE: OBDII codes

Can someone please help me with this. I understand that P1646 is an O2 sensor bank 1 upstream, but where is bank1 upstream. Is it in the front or in the back of the motor and is it the top or the bottom I can see four sensors. All look to have four wires, but are they the some sensor(part number) or is each one adifferent number. Thanks for ant help you can give.

The two upstream are same part number and the two downstream are the same part number. Up and Down different from each other.
Bank 1 is on rear of motor and is the one closest to engine.

Help again please. I got the code P1646. I changed both O2 sensors on top front and back of motor. I clear the code and it comes right back. Thanks for any help you can give.[:@]

RE: OBDII codes

I had a code for bad gas cap, replaced it and my engine light is still on. How long does it take to reset, or do I have to have it removed?

RE: OBDII codes

You need to make sure that the wires have not been crossed somewhere. The P1646 is def bank 1 sensor 1 code. So you either have a wiring problem to that sensor or bad ECM. I would look at ECM last.
Fuse 21 (30amp) in the engine bay fuse box controls the heater circuit for that sensor. Check that fuse. Then you need to check fuse 19 (10amp) and fuse 36 (5 amp) all in the front fuse box. Engine bay.
Let us know.
