Which oil for manual transmission and transfer case?
I will buy oil from autoparts store.
Some manual transmissions use ATF, some gear oil.
ALLDATA:
Castrol BOT 130M (Man. Tr)
M2C 192A Synthetic ( tr case & diff.)
Which oils are close to Jag recommended? I will not buy oil from a dealer.
Info from internet:
"Castrol BOT130 is a 75W-90 GL4"

car5car, not sure on the transmission as to what it may use (give me a bit and I will confirm). But, the transfer case uses a gear lube that is a full synthetic 75W-140. I know Mobil 1 makes it and it like $15 a quart. This same lube is used in the rear end of the car. The transfer case only uses 600 ml and the rear end uses 1.5 quarts as I recall. Not sure how much fluid the tranny takes. But,, when I find the lube for the tranny, it will give me the amount also.

I went through this when I recently got my X-Type and it is a bit confusing.
Thermo is of course correct on the transfer case and differential using 75W-140. You should be able to find this at a good local parts place, Mobil1, Redline, Valvoline and others sell it. I'm sure you've read about how to change it which is a bit unusual (lifting one side of the car up until the sill is ~21" off the ground seemed the easiest to me if you have a descent jack).
The manual transmission takes slightly under 2 quarts of GL4 75W-90 (or 70W-90 or 80W-90 all apparently work fine, I split the difference and went with the 75). The key is the GL4 rating which is used for manual transmission as something in the GL5 stuff doesn't play well with synchros. I couldn't find this at my local stores (maybe because no one has manual transmissions anymore!) so I just ordered Red Line stuff on Amazon. If you have a better local shop than me, or if they're a Red Line distributor, then maybe they'll have it. The manual trans fluid is easy to change with readily accessible drain and fill plugs.
