Default One of my rotors seems to be burning up!!

Hello guys!

One of my front rotors seems. Be getting extremely hot. As some of you may know fron my multiple posts here, I have had sway bar bushings, say bar links, control arms, rotors and other things replaced in hopes that the clunk pop noises coming from the front will stop. The noises did in fact stop for a month and then came back, and no shop can find anything wrong with the car. I have been told to replace my shocks, shock mounts to "see" if that helps.

Today I decided to spray the rotors with water after a small 4 mile trip. The rear rotors hardly sizzled with the water, the drivers side smoked a little, but the passenger front just sizzled. Obviously this rotor is getting much hotter. Why would that be? What should I look at?

I hope I have found my problem

Should all the rotors be the same temp?

When I spray water on the rears, it doesn't sizzle at all. But the frontal do, particularly the passanger front

Old brake hoses swell inside and can cause the caliper to stick. If the caliper isn't severely corroded and binding up, I'd suspect that first.

Spike, your front brakes do a majority of the braking. So, they will tend to be a little hotter than the rears. But, there shouldn't be a dramatic difference.

From the sounds of things, you have a caliper that has frozen on you. I would start by pulling the caliper off and then seeing if you can push the piston in with a large C-Clamp. That may be enough to free things up (granted, I would still look at getting a new caliper if this is the case). If you find that the caliper will not retract, then open the bleed port and see if that makes it so the piston goes in easily. If so, then your problem lies in the ABS module and you will most likely need a new one. If the piston is still difficult to move, then this confirms a bad caliper and a new one will be needed.
