I know the picture is for demonstration only, but why would the A/C be on if the outside temp is 23 and inside set to 61?

When set on "Auto" and heat is needed the AC goes on to dry the air so the windows don't fog up. Jack

Sound like a faulty ambient outside temperature sensor. If you do a search you should find it on here. Had the same problem and replaced it.($15). Now it shows on the display and the car idles and runs better.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was?
