You would need at a minimum the rain sensor mounted behind the rear view mirror, and the appropriate winshield that provides a "port" for the rain sensor to see through. Then probably swap out the wiper stalk to have the auto setting and perhaps the relay as well.

I don't know for sure which one it is, would have to look it up. You may be ok with just the wiper stalk that has the automatic setting then if you already have the rain sensor and windshield. I wonder why you have the sensor and perhaps windshield but not the rain sensing feature? Odd.

Disco, quit posting drunk.

i dont know.

my rearview mirror has id say a little black eye type sensor on it, and my winsheild has a black hole surrounded by what looks like a visor at the very top just outside of my rear view mirror.

probably not the best explanation but i am guessing that is the rain sensor.

my car has all kinds of weird ****. all connection and brackets for cdc - no cdc.
all seat heaters no heat seater switch - bought one on ebay.

im just trying to install the options myself.

That does indeed sound like the rain sensor and the correct windshield, yes. You may have just a little bit of work and you'll have the feature. I find the feature does work pretty well, for me anyway.

What year is your car? the relays changed position, R1 for 02-03's, and R4 for 2004 on up. Might have to compare part numbers. Call Rahal, they might be able to tell you quicker than searching around.

Default Love the rain-sensing wipers!

Oregon along with Washington is probably one of the best States to enjoy this feature. They simply are amazing. It is so nice to not have to continually fuss with getting the wipers at the right speed. Absolutely love them. Just don't forget to turn them off if and when you ever enter a car wash! LOL

hmm. Well, did you get anywhere with the relays? It might be a good idea to give the dealer a call and see if they have to "enable" the feature for you....scratching the bottom of the idea bucket here.....

yeah, i know of them, but I live just a few miles from Bobby Rahal Jaguar in the North Hills so I go there when needed.

Then there must be some component missing from the auto wipers system. You appear to have the sensors, you have the stalk....

looking at page 129 on the electrical guide (the one I posted in your headlight thread), there appears to be a rain sensor control module. Need to figure out if you have that.

Yep, he has a Jaguar/Land Rover/Volvo/Aston Martin dealership that is really nice. Even has a little off road course out back for the Rovers, I've been on it a few times. They pamper the heck out of you at that place. Full blown coffee bar, free snacks, the works.

One of his helmets is in a glass case under the Jaguar service desk, still has all kinds of rubber and debris stuck to it from the race, I think it was one of his Indy efforts. I've met him before too, agree he's a real personable guy.

He also has a Benz and Toyota dealership in the area, and I think a BMW one too.

That's good to see, a sport star who is also business savy.
The grass always seem greeener on the other side - PA for better dealerships and CA for better Rover community.
