Plea to all music (and Jaguar) lovers...

Hello there.

I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with a little conundrum I'm having. I have a 2009 X Type, no sat nav but it does have Bluetooth phone connectivity. The stereo is, as far as I can tell, the stock Alpine sound system with single CD player. Which is all well and good but as I'm sure you all agree, having to change CDs one at a time can be a little annoying. I would love to be able to use an MP3 player and have been given one that plugs into the lighter socket. However, there is no jack to plug it into the car stereo. Also, there is a DVD unit in the boot, which is odd as there is no sat nav fitted as mentioned above. So my questions are, is it possible to use an MP3 player, am I just missing something obvious on the stereo console? And any ideas why there would be a DVD unit in the boot, when the car doesn't have sat nav?

Many thanks.

Jaguar made an ACM. That's a kit that allows your stereo to play music from your ipod, any stick drive, even has RCA jacks to plug in a satellite player.
Problem is Jag haven't made them in a long while. Some dealers still have them in stock. Now and then you'll find one on eBay. They go from $400-$500.

DVD unit in the trunk? Are you sure that isn't a CD changer? Those were stock units that held 6 CDs. If so, it wouldn't completely solve your issue with removing CDs often, but would at least give you 7 total CD options instead of 1. You can check by pushing the CDC button on the dash.
