Please HELP -- Transfer Case
 

I have a 2002 X-Type 3.0 Sport and the Transfer Case is ruined. My extended warranty company says they won't fix it because it's a maintenance issue. I told them the transfer case is a sealed part and is non-serviceable so there's no way it can be a maintenance issue. They told me they need that in writing from a Jag mechanic and then they can fix my car. I can't seem to find a mechanic who is willing to put this in writing, although they all tell me that there is no way it's a maintenance issue.Can someone please help?!! I have been without a car for a week and I can't afford to pay for the repair out of pocket. I paid for the warranty and they should fix my car. It clearly states that the transfer case is a covered component. Please please help!!!

Have you had this problem fixed?? I Know your post is a couple of months old. Let me know. Transfer box is sealed. Also, threaten to sue the ext warr co. for not living up to their requirements. Make them send an adjuster out to look at vehicle. He will be able to see it is sealed unit.

Have you seen the FAQ section showing some of our members way of flushing n refilling the transfer case?
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts as a Jagtech on this one mate?
