Radio Headunit Replaced...CDC function gone..Help

I replaced my OEM cassette radio unit to OEM cd player radio unit. All works well except for the CDC CD Changer. When I installed my OEM Cassette it recognizes it & works great. I got another OEM cd player radio unit & the same thing - no CDC function. Is there a setup to enable the CDC function?

I tried the search & couldn't find answer. So now the post. Thanks.

If you don't have the SatNav unit, then you would need to take a trip to the dealer to get the CDC enabled.

Called the dealer & they have no clue. Haven't done it before. They said it is plug & play. The Bellevue & Tacoma dealers. :icon_werd:

It is definitely not plug and play if it's not a satnav unit. This has been discussed at great length in 'another place'!! Dealer has to do it!!

As Astro says, for non-Sat Nav it has to be enabled. However, when I did mine the main dealer said exactly the same to me as he has to you

Go to an independent (my guy is a Jag specialist and uses the aftermarket Autologic software). It took him less than 5 minutes, and I slung him $20 to do it.

Thanks Rob. Now I know where to go.
Dealer said they can hook up to the computer for $180 but no guarantee.
HA!

HA!

Too funny, my dealer here quoted A$181 for the one hour of work, also no guarantee!

While the independent was configuring the CDC, he also cleared another couple of errors that the car had captured.

BS. I was only charged for half an hour to enable the CDC, that's all the time it should take. This was before I retrofitted the SatNav which enables me to do it myself now.

Anyway, call another Jag dealer. Even if they want to charge you an hour, dealerships in the DC metro area charge $140, I bloody can't imagine Seattle dealers charging more. You'd still be better off finding an ind. shop.

Spielnicht, what bothers me the most is the service folks saying there's no such programming thing. Even if I ask them to check their tech guy about it.
Anyway I got my trusted Jag shop scheduled Tuesday. At least they sounded like they know what to do.
