My LCD radio display panel on my 2002
Jaguar X-type (standard display - not the
touchscreen)
is so dim as to be unusable at night,
even with the dash lights at maximum
brightness.
Has anyone been able to replace the
backlight behind the display panel?

 

My radio display is also dimmer than it should be, might still be a bit brighter than what yours has become.
I think it is a driver circuit issue, but I haven't yet dug into it to find the cause.
My X-Type is currently on loan to my brother, but looking into that fault is a job for me to do when it comes back likely in a month.

I'll let you know what I find, hopefully I'll get the bottom of the problem and that will be the answer on yours as well.
